Becharof Lakehas an abundance of sockeye salmon. It is estimated that the lake produces about 6 million sockeye salmon per year. This makes it the second largest producer of salmon in the world. Arctic char, burbot, trout, grayling, northern pike, and dolly varden also call Becharof Lake home. Fishing on the lake is accesible through out the year. Because of the high salmon population, the lake also attracts many brown bear.
